All news- Corrections Department Publishes Register of Custodial Facilities and Visiting Arrangements
The register of the Network's five custodial establishments and its court custody suite is published today, with the capacity and population of each. Visits by families resume at every establishment from Saturday 12 September 2026.
- Education Programmes to Begin in Every Establishment on 14 September 2026
Classes in literacy, numeracy, secondary certificates and digital skills begin at all five establishments on Monday 14 September 2026. Every person in custody will be assessed within ten working days of reception and offered a place.
- Workshop and Horticulture Placements Confirmed From 21 September 2026
Workshops in joinery, textiles, laundry and print, and horticulture units at Westbrook and Northgate, open for placements on Monday 21 September 2026, offering 640 places each week. Offending behaviour programmes follow on 28 September.
About the Department
The Corrections Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network is responsible for the safe and decent custody of persons committed by the courts of the Velocity Interoperability Network, for their rehabilitation while in custody, and for their supervision and resettlement on release.
It operates five custodial establishments and a court custody suite, provides education, work and offending behaviour programmes, maintains contact between those in custody and their families, and publishes the standards to which its establishments are held.
